One of the best fights ever. Would love to see a re-match but kind of feel it may lack the excitement and sheer warrior spirit of this epic battle. Well done to both fighters.
Take out the rounds and just let the guys fight for 25 minutes! This round scoring system is pure artifice. How do you win a fight as a whole when you are mounted and getting beat down at the final bell?
i think you wrong dan henderson completely demolishes shogun in the first 3 round with amazing stuff and defended himself through the whole fight really well, yer shogun got the last round but really what did he do, kept going from full mount into half guard and a little bit of ground impound ... :@
yes Henderson definitely destroyed "chubby boy" Hua. How in the world that out of shape, tubby boy Shogun can keep getting the hype he gets is beyond me. He shows up out of shape, and overhyped and gets spanked and still gets marquee fight and hype. I only wish he would have gotten KO’d by Henderson. You would have thought being punked by Jon Jones would have sent him packing for brazil.

Henderson was destroyed by shogun, he’s just lucky there’s only five rounds but im glad he won the fight at 41 he has less opportunities to come back than shogun
Guys, judges are rarily scoring 10/10 rounds. It means the judges can’t do their job and pick a winner of a round. Henderson won the first 3 rounds 10/9, shogun won the last 2 rounds 10/9. In order for a round to be a 10/8, you need DOMINANCE and DAMAGE. In round 3, Henderson damaged shogun, but didnt dominate him. In round 5, shogun dominated hendo, but didnt damage him. In order for a 10/8 round to occur, you need both.
Brilliant fight, probably the best I have seen so far. And yeah I agree Hendo definitely won with those first 3 rounds.

i was there. no fight compares. but you’re a dumbass. third round coulda gone either way but Hendo dominated shogun way more than shogun dominated hendo in the later rounds. landed better striikes and did more than sit on top of him
This was a very close contest where i had Hendo win the first time i just re-watched and now i say it’s a draw. i do not think Hendo deserved any 10-8 rounds he still had effective striking grappling and octagon control though. and on the other hand shogun i thought had a 10-9 fourth round and a 10-8 fifth round with Hendo having no offense. so i scored the fight

Chuckie if you really knew how much damage shogun has taken you would know why he is out of shape and is getting beat up all the time. He has blown out both acl’s twice and has taken so many giant punches to the chin that you wouldn’t be able to take.

Last round was one sided but he didn’t do much damage. He was too gassed. Hendo did way more damage in the first and third.
